The design life of a concrete tank is over 60 years. Designed to British Standards 8007 and 8110, or EC 1 Class 1 and 2 the concrete formwork system offers the advantages of easy construction with efficient site programmes
The system consists of an inner and outer wall of shuttering pans that build up in diameter and height to create a mould. The reinforcing mesh that is required is fixed between the shutter walls, with the concrete being poured into the mould. As and when applicable, the shutters are then stripped away when the concrete has achieved the correct strength.
Our formwork systems allow us to target a wide range of tank sizes, in both diameter and height. Using our experienced installation crews to build the tanks, we can ensure a fast track approach to each project, giving our clients benefits on contract programmes.
Our design principals offer the choice of std 0.2mm design, to post tensioning using the TCL Post Tensioning System (TPTS) which virtually guarantees a crack free structure.
To compliment the wall formwork, we also design and construct structural tank bases and concrete and or other types of roofs.
Glass coated steel represents a high quality, resistant, solution to the storage of aggressive contents such as sewage and chemicals. All our tanks are designed and manufactured in accordance with BS EN 28765-2016.
Internal coating Thickness. Min 180-Max 500
30 Year design Life in accordance with ISO 1586-1-3
700 & 1100V Factory dry voltage testing.
The glass is literally fused to the steel making it highly effective in the storage of all types of bulk commodity.
Epoxy powder coated mild steel is a robust material, with excellent resistance to impact. A highly resistant polyurethane sealant ensures that the tank effectively holds more aggressive content, such as raw sewage and industrial effluent to a ph. level between 2 & 13.
Plates for these tanks are prepared using a two coat, two fire process, ensuring a pin-hole free coating, tested at 1100v. This makes each panel highly resilient to surface damage.
The plates are prepared using a two coat / two fire process, with the first coat internally and externally being epoxy powder, and the second coat being epoxy powder internally and polyester externally. The external polyester top coat is then applied to UV to stabilise the epoxy powder, and to give the required colour to the tank.
The coating is applied electro-statically, ensuring 100% panel coverage, inclusive of bolt holes and panel edges. The first coat is then semi-cured at 160°C. This provides a good key for the second coat. The second coat is then applied with this being fully cured at 180°C. Each plate is then tested before leaving the factory using a 1000V spark test to guarantee a 100% pin hole free surface.
Each plate has a minimum coating thickness of 120 microns per side (240 microns total).
This high grade product has historically been used in environments, such as food industries where a clean high-tech product finish is expected. Obviously, this product is not as economical as others but is available, if required. No coating is required on this high quality product.
With the high grade stainless steel options, these being SS316 & SS304, the construction of the shell varies in order that galvanic corrosion is negated. The shell plates are constructed using stainless steel fixings, bolts, and angles.
The repair and maintenance of bolted steel panel tanks and Reinforced Concrete Tanks Capabilities & Scope.
For over 35 year our companies management have been involved, both in the UK and throughout the world, in the design, manufacture, supply and build of bolted steel panel & reinforced concrete tanks. These many years of experience, sets us apart from most other tank companies, in being able to understand the intricacies’ of the product and to evaluate and recommend a repair and maintenance process. We offer a comprehensive tank refurbishment service.
We understand that you must maximise your asset and in accordance with HSE document RR760 “Mechanical integrity management of bulk storage tanks” Maintenance and inspection is obligatory to prevent a risk and endangerment to life. We will support you and your team to maintain and repair your tanks.
If required, and possible due to contents type, we can offer our Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to survey the tank without the need for draining.
This experience, enhanced by the knowledge of the bolted steel panel tank structure and concrete, gives our company an understanding of how to repair, and maintain these tanks in the most efficient way; thereby extending the service life of the tank.
Our bolted steel panel tank division is a part of the Tank Consult Ltd company and together completes a whole tank service to the industry.
“The Industry,” being the Water industry, Water treatment, Renewables Energy from Waste, Food & Drink, Anaerobic Digestion, Biogas, Silos, and many other above-ground storage tank situations.
Our sales team has the expertise to ensure the price we give is the price your works come in at. There will be no hidden surprises!! Our workforce are all Confined Space Trained. We know exactly what is required.
